Devotion to one's motherland is as important as devotion to God. When integrity and patriotism are developed in an individual, his vision becomes broad and his outlook balanced. The motherland is not just a place on the map or an extent of land or a collection of names; it is verily the Mother who feeds the body as well as the mind. It teaches the art of progressing towards the supreme goal of life, namely, self-realization. It is thus the embodiment of both Lakshmi (Goddess of prosperity) and Saraswathi (Goddess of knowledge). 

از خود گذشتگی در برابر میهن مادری به همان میزان اهمیت دارد که از خود گذشتگی در برابر خدا. وقتی امانت داری و میهن دوستی در یک شخص رشد و توسعه میابد، بینش وی گسترده می شود و نگرشش تعادل پیدا می کند. میهن مادری فقط یک جا بر روی نقشه یا قطعه ای زمین یا مجموعه ای از اسامی نیست؛ بلکه حقیقتا ً مادریست که تن و ذهن را تغذیه می کند. او هنر پیشرفت بسوی هدف عالی زندگی، یعنی درک نفس را می آموزد. پس همانا او تجسم لاکشمی (الهه موفقیت) و ساراسواتی (الهه دانایی) است.
