In this world, you see many names and forms. Does it mean that they are all different from each other? No. All are one. It is only Divinity that expresses itself as mother, father, brother, sister, etc. Different people may ascribe different names to the Atmic Reality and try to define it in different ways. But, the underlying Atma Tattwa (Atmic priniciple) is one and the same. Names and forms may be different, but the underlying truth is one. When you keep this principle of truth in view, love will flow from you incessantly. Immerse yourself in the ocean of love. Do not give up love under any circumstance. Even if someone were to hate you, treat him as your own brother.

در این دنیا، شما با اسمها و شکلهای زیادی مواجه می شوید. آیا این به این معناست که همه با هم متفاوتند؟ نه. همه یکی هستند. فقط الوهیت است که خود را در قالب مادر، پدر، برادر، خواهر و غیره ابراز می کند. آدمهای مختلف ممکن است اسمهای متفاوتی به حقیقت آتما نسبت دهند و سعی کنند تا آن را به شیوه های متفاوت توضیح دهند. اما، اساس آتما تاتوا (اصل آتمایی) یکی و همان است. اسمها و شکلها شاید متفاوت باشند، اما حقیقت بنیادی یکی است. وقتی این اصل حقیقی را در نظر می آورید، پیوسته از شما عشق ساطع می شود. خود را در دریای عشق فرو برید. عشق را در هیچ شرایطی ترک نگویید. حتی اگر کسی از شما بیزار بود، با او مثل برادر خویش رفتار کنید.

Love is light. It illumines your path and helps you reach the goal. Your journey of life will be safe and secure when you carry the light of love with you. Love is God. Live in love. Truly speaking, you are the very embodiments of love. Let the stream of love flow from one heart to another. Consider love as your life. This is your foremost duty. You may search anywhere in the world, you cannot find anything greater than love. You can conquer the whole world with the weapon of love. There is nothing that you cannot achieve with the power of love. Love is the supreme power. True human value lies in sharing and experiencing the supreme love. The power of love is unmatched. When you fill your heart with love, all people will become your brothers and sisters. You will not have enemies at all!

عشق نور است. عشق راه شما را روشن می کند و کمک می کند تا به هدف برسید. وقتی فانوس عشق با خود همراه دارید سفر زندگی شما امن و خاطر جمع خواهد بود. عشق خداست. در عشق زندگی کنید. به بیان صحیح، شما تجسم خود عشق هستید. بگذارید نهر عشق از قلبی به قلب دیگر جاری شود. عشق را زندگی خود بدانید. این مهمترین وظیفه شماست. اگر همه دنیا را بگردید نمی توانید هیچ چیز برتر و بزرگتر از عشق پیدا کنید. با سلاح عشق می توانید بر همه دنیا پیروز شوید. چیزی نیست که با قدرت عشق نتوانید به آن برسید. عشق قدرت برتر است. ارزشهای والای انسانی در تقسیم و تجربه عشق والاست. قدرت عشق بی همتاست. وقتی قلب خود را از عشق مملو می کنید، همه مردم برادران و خواهران شما خواهند شد. و هیچ گاه دشمنی نخواهید داشت!

Propagation of Dharma (righteousness) means to promote the practice of Dharma and not to spread knowledge about it. Only those who practice Dharma are qualified to propagate it. It is because Dharma and Sathya (truth) have been propagated by persons who do not practise them that they have been eclipsed. It is only when they are practised in daily life that their true nature and value will be realized. Though Dharma is present everywhere, it is covered by ignorance and pride, like fire that is covered by ashes or water by moss. These elements that hide the true nature of Dharma have to be removed so that it may be revealed to the world.

گسترش دارما (نیکوکاری) بمعنای ارتقای عمل به دارماست، نه گسترش علم آن. تنها کسانی که دارما را بکار می برند شایستگی گسترش آن را دارند. این بخاطر این است که دارما و ساتیا (حقیقت) بوسیله کسانی گسترش یافته که آن را بکار نمی برند. فقط وقتی آنها در زندگی روزمره به عمل در می آیند هویت و ذات حقیقی و ارزششان فهمیده می شود. با اینکه دارما در همه جا حضور دارد، بوسیله نادانی و تکبر از دیده ها پنهان است، همچون آتشی که زیر خاکستر و آب و خز پنهان شده. این عناصر که هویت راستین دارما را پنهان نگه می دارند را بایستی از میان برد تا بر جهانیان آشکار شود.

It is a grave mistake to identify yourself with the body. Give up body attachment and develop Atmic consciousness. Only then will you understand and experience your true form, i.e., Atma. Otherwise, even the smallest physical ailments will make you feel anxious. Physical ailments are like passing clouds. So long as you are deluded by body consciousness, you will be affected by them. Once you give up body attachment, you are no more bound by the body and its limitations. When you sit in meditation, you forget your body. Meditation means giving up Dehabhimaana (body attachment) and developing Atmic awareness. Understand that you are not the body. You are "I". Everyone while referring to one's self uses the term "I", the principle of Atma. Hence, you are not the body. It is only an instrument. "I" is your true identity.

این اشتباه بزرگی است که خود را با جسمتان بشناسید. تعلقات جسمانی را کنار بگذارید و حس و شعور آتمایی را در خود ایجاد کنید. فقط آنوقت است که شکل حقیقی خود را می فهمید و تجربه اش خواهید کرد، یعنی آتما را. در غیر اینصورت، حتی کوچکترین درد و ناراحتی فیزیکی شما را مضطرب و بیمناک خواهد کرد. درد و ناراحتی فیزیکی مانند ابرهای گذرا هستند. تا وقتی فریب احساسات جسمانی را می خورید، تحت تاثیر آنها قرار خواهید گرفت. وقتی تعلقات جسمانی را ترک گفتید، دیگر در انحصار جسم و شرایط محدود آن نخواهید بود. وقتی مدیتیشن می کنید، جسم خود را فراموش می کنید. مدیتیشن یعنی ترک دِهابیمانا (تعلقات جسم) و ایجاد شعور آتمایی. این را بفهمید که این جسم نیستید. شما "من" هستید. هر کس وقتی به خود اشاره می کند از اصطلاح "من" استفاده می کند، که این اصل آتماست. بنابراین، شما این جسم نیستید. آن فقط یک وسیله است. "من" شخصیت حقیقی شماست.

All names and forms are based on your feelings. God has no differences whatsoever. No one can comprehend the nature of Divinity. Actually, the principle of love that exists in all beings is the principle of Divinity. Love has no specific form. Divinity transcends name and form. In fact, all names and forms belong to the same God. He responds to the prayers of devotees in whatever form they worship Him. Hence, each one considers the form he worships to be superior to the other forms. It is a sign of ignorance to consider one form superior to the other. What is important is that your prayers should not be confined to mere words. They should be translated into action. It is easy to speak but not so easy to practise. True prayer is that which is translated into action.

همه اسمها و شکلها بر اساس احساسات شما شکل می گیرند. خداوند به هیچ وجه متفاوت نیست. هیچ کس نمی تواند ذات الوهیت را درک کند. در واقع، قاعده عشق که در هر موجودی حضور دارد، اصل الوهیت است. عشق هیچ شکل خاصی ندارد. الوهیت بالاتر و برتر از اسم و شکل است. در حقیقت، همه اسمها و شکلها به یک خدا وابسته است. او دعای مریدان و مخلصان را به هر شکلی که او را ستایش کنند پاسخ می دهد. از این جهت، هر کس شیوه ستایش خود را بالاتر و برتر از دیگر گونه های ستایش می بیند. این نشان جهل است که شکلی از ستایش به دیگری ارجح دانسته شود. آنچه مهم است این است که عبادات شما نباید فقط محدود و محصور به کلمات باشد. آنها باید به عمل در بیایند. سخن گفتن آسان است، اما نه به اندازه عمل. عابد و مرید واقعی کسی است که در عمل خود را نشان دهد.

Once you have tasted Prema (Love), you will see the world in its real form. Therefore, become embodiments of love. Let love flow incessantly from your heart. Immerse yourself in the flow of love. Out of love, emerge truth and righteousness. Sathyam Vada, Dharmam Chara (speak truth, practise righteousness). Truth and righteousness are the two pillars on which the mansion of human life rests. It is love that gives rise to these two principles. There is no knowledge greater than the knowledge of love. You may read a number of Pustakas (books), but love cannot be acquired from such books. What is the use of reading Pustakas when your Mastaka (head) is filled with 'dirt'? It is because of such 'dirt', you become an animal losing the sense of discrimination.

وقتی طعم پریما (عشق) را چشیدید، دنیا را در شکل واقعی خود خواهید دید. پس، تجسمی از عشق باشید. بگذارید عشق همواره در قلب شما جاری باشد. در جریان عشق وارد شوید. بعد از عشق، در راستی و درستی یکی شوید. ساتیام وادا، دارمام چارا (از حقیقت سخن بگویید، و راستی و درستی پیشه کنید). حقیقت و راستی دو رکنی هستند که بنای زندگی بشر بر آن استوار است. این عشق است که این دو اصل را بالا می برد. هیچ دانشی برتر از علم به عشق نیست. شاید تعداد زیادی پوستاکاس (کتاب) بخوانید، لیکن عشق را نمی توان از چنین کتابهایی بدست آورد. فایده خواندن پوستاکاس چیست وقتی ماستاکای (سر) شما پر از کثافت است؟ بخاطر همین کثافت است که با از دست دادن حس تمیز تبدیل به حیوان می شوید.

In this vast expanse of the universe, right from the minutest atom to the mightiest, everything is permeated by the Atmic reality. It appears as the minutest of the minute and mightiest of the mighty. In fact, the principle of oneness that pervades the microcosm and the macrocosm is the fundamental reality which you have to enquire into. You must direct your love to the changeless Atma Tattwa (Atmic principle), not the body which is subject to birth and death. The Atma Tattwa does not undergo any change whatsoever. Nothing can be added to it nor deducted from it. Therefore, you must develop firm faith in such a changeless principle. Atma Tattwa is the only reality. Make Atma Tattwa as your goal in life's journey.

در این جهان پهناور و گسترده، از کوچکترین اتم تا آن بزرگترین، همه چیز تحت نفوذ حقیقت آتما قرار دارد. آتماست که بعنوان جزیی ترین اتم تا بزرگترین موجود ظاهر می شود. در حقیقت، اصل وحدت که در عالم صغیر و کبیر گسترده شده حقیقتی بنیادی است که شما باید در پی آن باشید. برشماست که عشق خود را به سمت آتما تاتوا (اصل آتمایی) که تغییر ناپذیر است هدایت کنید، نه جسم که مستلزم تولد و مرگ است. آتما تاتوا بهیچوجه دستخوش تحول و تغییر نمی شود. هیچ چیز بدان افزوده نمی شود و نه چیزی از آن کاسته می شود. بنابراین، شما باید ایمان راسخ را در چنین اصل بی تغییری بوجود آورده و گسترش دهید. آتما تاتوا تنها حقیقت است. آتما تاتوا را مقصود سفر زندگی خود قرار دهید.

What is meant by birth and death? To assume a body is birth and to cast off the same is death. It is out of delusion that man experiences the dualities of birth and death. When we inhale with the sound 'So', the life principle enters our body and when we exhale 'Ham', it goes out. Every moment, this process of inhalation and exhalation reminds us of our inherent divinity - 'So-ham' (I am God). So long as there is life-breath, the body is considered to be Shivam (auspicious). Once the life-breath ebbs away, it becomes Shavam (corpse). Both birth and death are related to the body and not to the life principle. Man experiences birth and death because of his body attachment. He will be released from the cycle of birth and death only when he gives up body attachment and surrenders himself completely to the Will of God.

منظور از تولد و مرگ چیست؟ در قالب جسم قرار گرفتن تولد و از همان قالب بیرون رفتن مرگ است. این یک پندار بیهوده است که بشر تجاربی دوگانه از تولد و مرگ را بدست می آورد. وقتی با صدای "سو" نفس می کشیم، اصل زندگی در تن مان وارد می شود و هنگامیکه با صدای "هام" دم بر می آوریم، بیرون می رود. هر لحظه، این جریان دم و بازدم الوهیت ماندگار را به خاطر ما می آورد- "سو- هام" (من خدا هستم). پس تا وقتی که نفس زندگی وجود دارد، بدن را می توان شیوام (فرخنده و مبارک) دانست. وقتی نفس زندگی فرو می نشیند، شاوام (جسد) باقی می ماند. تولد و مرگ هر دو به جسم وابسته اند و نه به اصل قاعده زندگی. بشر تولد و مرگ را بدلیل تعلقات جسمش تجربه می کند. او هنگامی از چرخه تولد و مرگ خلاصی می یابد که تعلقات جسمش را ترک گوید و خود را کاملا ً به اراده الهی واگذار کند.

Truth can reflect itself in the intellect only when it is clarified by 'Tapas' (penance). Tapas means all acts undertaken with noble motives and all acts indicating yearning for the spirit, repenting for past mistakes, staunch determination to adhere to virtue, self-control and unyielding adherence to equanimity in the face of success or failure. 'Taapam' means heat, burning intensity and earnestness of endeavour. It is Tapas that fosters renunciation and discipline.

حقیقت وقتی خود را در نیروی عقلانی منعکس می کند که بوسیله تاپاس (توبه و پشیمانی از گناه) پالایش شده باشد. تاپاس یعنی عهده دار شدن همه اعمال با انگیزه های والا و اینکه همه اعمال نشاندهنده اشتیاق و آرزو برای روح و جان باشد، نادم از اشتباهات گذشته، عزم راسخ برای پیوند با تقوا، کنترل خویشتن و تبعیت از انصاف و عدالت، چه در موفقیت و چه شکست. تاپام یعنی اشتیاق، شور و شوق شدید برای مجاهدت. تاپام، تاپاس است که ترک تعلقات و تادیب و انتظام را پرورش می دهد.

This day is New Year's Day only because you have decided to call it so; it is not astronomically or climatically different from yesterday or tomorrow. Even like this New Year's Day, many hundreds of thousands of such days have passed on earth and many thousands have been celebrated as festival days too. So too, this day has come and this too will be gone. If the New Year's Day is used by one to begin a new way of life, to take a step towards self-realisation or self-improvement through service, only then do the celebrations acquire meaning and significance.

این روز، روز جدید از سال نو است، تنها به این خاطر که شما تصمیم به قرار دادن چنین نامی برای این روز شدید؛ نه از لحاظ نجومی و نه آب و هوایی تفاوتی با دیروز و فردا ندارد. مثل این روز جدید از سال نو، صدها و هزاران روز مثل همین روز در زمین گذشته اند و جشنهای زیادی نیز برپا شده. و همچنین، این روز هم می آید و خواهد گذشت. اگر روز جدید سال نو، کسی طریق تازه ای از زندگی را شروع کند، که گامی بسوی شناخت خویش یا بهبود و پیشرفت خود برای خدمت بردارد، تنها آنوقت است که جشنها و اعیاد معنا و اهمیت خواهند داشت.
